Alora’s life was never meant to be extraordinary—until the night everything changed. Forced to flee her home, she is thrust into a world of whispers, betrayal, and a curse that binds her to a kingdom lost in eternal winter.

Trapped in a fate she never asked for, Alora’s heart and mind are torn apart as she faces a prince who thrives in shadows—manipulating, deceiving, and pushing her to the edge.

Hunted across kingdoms, Alora must navigate dangerous truths, unsure of who she can trust. With the fate of her world at risk, she must choose—fight the prince’s deadly game or lose herself to the lies that bind her.

Shadows of Silver is the first book in a fantasy trilogy about self-discovery, betrayal, and a curse that changes everything. With dark twists, shifting alliances, and an enemies-to-lovers slow burn, Alora’s journey is only just beginning—and the shadows are only getting darker.

GENERAL REVIEW
Shadows of Silver was given to me as an ARC and I can't thank Daphne enough.

This book is amazing, one of my favourite books ever.

Writing & Main Character - The writing was so cinematic, I felt like I was inside Alora's head, reading her diary. Her emotions and character development were raw and real. Realistic. Her character feels unique and human, her actions make sense, always accompanied by motives.

Suspense aspect - You know when you're reading a book and everything stars to fall into place? The buildup is real and I loved how all the pieces started fitting into the puzzle. The foreshadowing and hints absolutely did their job.

Pacing - The pacing was simply incredible and super well balanced. The time Alora spends at each place is fundamental for her development and serves a purpose each time. It doesn't feel too quick or too slow - just perfect.

Other characters - My favourite character was Ryu and while I wish he had been more present, you can tell it was done intentionally to keep the reader at bay regarding his knowledge. All of the other characters present had a role in the story and fulfilled it completely.
It is important to remember this is a dark fantasy and it checks all the boxes - gore & violence, accompanied by an amazing plot and main characters.

SPOILERS!!! READ AT YOUR OWN DESCRETION
I kind of want to see more of the prince and call me crazy but a potential romance between him and Alora, as well. Ryu and Dayenaria(might be misspelled sorry) belong together and I wouldn't want Alora to ruin that. Kaladin had it coming btw.

Thank you so much for reading! Click below to check out the book!
